Finding Answers in Sustainable Jobs and Social Services Innovation in Social Enterprises

Narae (CEO Koo Yungmo), the 2022 International Forum on Social Enterprises was held at the Korea
Science and Technology Center on October 26 (Wednesday).
The forum was designed to highlight social enterprises that have provided sustainable jobs and social
services even amidst crises such as COVID-19, and to discuss the values of sustainability and resilience
espoused by social enterprises.
The forum consisted of three sessions, including keynote speeches, expert dialogue, and presentations of
best practices by participating countries. At the keynote session, officials from major international
organizations provided recent international trends on social and solidarity economy to the audience.
Vice Minister of Employment and Labor Kwon Gi-Seob said, “Even amid such challenging times as COVID-
19, social enterprises served as a driving force for realizing sustainability in our society by providing jobs
and social services.” He added, “The government will also continue supporting social enterprises so that
they can play a leading role in achieving social services innovation.”
